Electric Shock is no shock at all.
The five girls of f(x) are dancing and singing and posing around, and they actually have a good amount of stage presence. That’s why I find it a shame that this music video is so empty and on the verge of becoming boring. It’s a wonder how such an unimaginative and hollow concept came out from the same factory in charge of K-pop juggernaut Girls’ Generation.
This song and its lazy hook sounds more like an album filler than a hit single. The energetic dance choreography is the saving grace here, making Electric Shock seem like it has more electricity than it really does. Outfits and environments are sparkling, but I was hoping for something more creative.
I don’t have much to say about Electric Shock since there is not much in it. I watched it a couple more times, and I suppose the pumping tune and cute girls would justify why f(x) has their fans. I, however, am not fully converted yet.
